Sams on Brands: ESE Announces 2006 Speakers

Wilmington, DE- Early Stage East is pleased to announce our ESE 2006 Keynote Speaker, Sam Beiler, President and CEO of Auntie Anne's Pretzels and our ESE 2006 Honorary Alum Sam Calagione, Founder and President of Dogfish Head Craft Brewery.

At ESE 2005 Early Stage East introduced Daymond John, Founder and CEO of FUBU to our entrepreneurs, VCs and VIP network.  Clothing, brands—of course!  Building on that success, this year we are highlight two ‘niche' brands—pretzels and beer.  Sam Beiler, President & CEO of Auntie Anne's Pretzels will be the ESE 2006 Keynote Speaker during our ESE luncheon on May 9 th .  Broadening our focus on niche brands we will also re-introduce Sam Calagione, President & Founder of the Dogfish Head Craft Brewery to start off our day as our Honorary ESE 2006 Alum .

Auntie Anne's took a simple pretzel sold at a local farmer's market and made it an international brand recognized throughout the world.  A remarkable story of growth, Auntie Anne's has grown from that one farmer's market stand in Downingtown, PA to a franchise and global brand with over 900 locations throughout the US and 11 other locations internationally. A story of success from a brand that definitely filled a niche—the pretzel niche.  Early Stage East is pleased to announce Sam Beiler, President & CEO of Auntie Annel's pretzels as our 2006 Keynote Speaker.

We are also pleased to announce Sam Calgione Founder & President of Dogfish Head as our 2006 ESE Honorary Entrepreneur Alum and breakfast speaker.  Sam is a longtime friend of Early Stage East and joined us at our early events—providing the beverage of choice for our opening night reception back in 1998.  These days Dogfish Head is the fastest growing small brewery in the country and the only brewery in America to be named to the Inc. 500 list of the fastest-growing private companies.  Sam is also the author of Brewing Up A Business: Adventures in Entrepreneurship from the Founder of Dogfish Head Craft Brewery.

Join us May 8 th for beer & pretzels at our VIP Opening Reception!
