Early Stage East (ESE) presented the Bio Life Tech 2005 Venture Conference attracting 225+ investors, entrepreneurs, and service providers on September 13 & 14 at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore, MD.

Investors and money managers from venture funds and financial institutions, representing the East Coast, viewed 19 of the most innovative early stage bio life science companies on the East Coast. The dynamic presentations led to follow-up meetings with investors.

AccelaPure Corporation, the first full function SFC based chromatographic purification company, received the award as the Best Exhibiting Company. Bio Factura, Inc., a biopharmaceutical development company with the primary mission to bring promising biopharmaceutical products to market, was given the People’s Choice Award. Red Path Integrated Pathology Inc., an early stage diagnostic services company, was selected as the Company Most Likely to Receive Funding.

In addition to the 19 presenting companies, Bio Life Tech welcomed four dynamic featured speakers. Mr. Jeff Singer, Vice President, the NASDAQ Stock Market, offered an inside look at the NASDAQ stock market. Mr. Osagie Imasogie, Co-Founder and Managing Partner, Phoenix IP Ventures, discussed trends in the pharmaceutical industry.

Steve Hurly, Janney Montgomery Scott, discussed the state of the bio industry. Dr. Wise Young, one of the world’s leading neuroscientists, highlighted the developments in stem cell research.
