Who We Are

Early Stage East (ESE) is a non-profit organization dedicated to seeing early stage companies grow and succeed. Early Stage East was founded in 1998 and has grown from a one-day venture capital fair to a year-round series of events. Our events showcase entrepreneurs from up and down the East Coast in order for them to effectively obtain venture capital and successfully start break-away businesses. What We Do

Early Stage East hosts a variety of events and conferences including Early Stage East (ESE) our ’trademark’ early stage venture conference and Bio-Life-Tech (BLT) our life-science oriented early stage venture conference (www.biolifetech.org). Early Stage East also hosts entrepreneurial education programs including From Vision to Value, our very popular panel series and Building a Great Business, our one day seminar. Additionally, ESE hosts an annual golf tournament, panel discussions and other events.

The ESE Venture Capital Conference features early stage companies focused on information technology, enterprise software and internet technology as well as chemicals and advanced materials, manufacturing technology, nanotechnology, medical instruments and devices, industrial biotechnology and electronic materials. The ESE 2006 Venture Capital Conference was be held on May 8th & 9th at the DuPont Country Club & Brantwyn Estate in Wilmington, DE and attracted over 90 investors and more than 450 attendees. The ESE 2005 conference was held in Center City, Philadelphia and attracted 375+ attendees and more than $6 billion dollars!

The Bio-Life-Tech Conference focuses on the fields of biotechnology, life science, pharmaceuticals, nanotechnology and the related instrumentation and technologies that support these industries. This year’s Bio-Life-Tech conference will be held Monday, December 4th at the historic Nassau Inn in downtown Princeton, NJ.

The From Vision to Value series premiered in Philadelphia in the spring of 2006 and featured a four-part series which included sessions on Capital Formation, Growing Profitability, Valuing Employees and Creating Liquidity. Look out for our fall series coming soon to Baltimore, MD!

Where We Are

Early Stage East, based in Wilmington, DE, focuses on entrepreneurs and venture capitalists from New England to the Carolinas attracting attention to areas with peak activity in the industries featured at the conferences.

Who Attends ESE Events

Early Stage East is an early stage venture capital organization founded by VCs. We are supported by a key group of Venture Showcase Sponsors as well as a variety of VIP Sponsors. Our events attract a wide audience of early stage tech and biotech companies ready to scale for growth as well as venture capital, institutional and angel investors .
