SAS INVESTOR'S JOSHUA GROTSTEIN TO CHAIR EARLY STAGE EAST 2006 VENTURE CAPITAL CONFERENCE

Wilmington, DE- SAS Investor’s Managing Partner, Joshua Grotstein, will serve as co-chair for the ninth annual Early Stage East Venture Capital Conference to be held on May 8 th & 9 th, 2006. Mr. Groststein has served on Early Stage East’s planning committee and participated in panel presentations in previous years. He will work with co-chair, Sean Sebastian, a partner at Birchmere Ventures, to champion venture opportunities for investors and entrepreneurs on the East Coast.

Mr. Grotstein is Partner and Co-Founder of SAS Investors, a venture capital firm created to grow the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast’s most promising pre-seed and early stage high technology ventures. Prior to SAS Investors, Mr. Grotstein served as a division executive for global ecommerce at Citigroup, led the content and commerce efforts at Prodigy, where he was a member of the senior executive team leading the spin-out (from IBM and Sears) and was the founding general manager of NBC’s Online Ventures, where he was part of the team that formed the initial relationship between NBC and Microsoft which led to the creation of MSNBC. . He has also had a significant Marketing and Business Development experience across various technology and communication sectors working at CNBC and J. Walter Thompson. He sits on the boards of Multispectral Imaging and Backfence.

The ESE 2006 Venture Conference will be held at the DuPont Country Club and Brantwyn Estate on May 8 th & 9 th. “The Early Stage East conference is consistently one of the country’s pre-eminent venues for early stage deal flow,” noted Mr. Grotstein. “I’m excited to be part of the committee planning the 2006 conference, which I’m certain will feature many world-class start-up’s.”

On Monday, May 8th, ESE welcomes attendees to our day of athletics to include a golf outing, tennis tournament, and competition lawn bowling. It’s a great way to network in a relaxed and fun environment. Attendees will kick-off the conference that evening at a lavish networking reception hosted at the Brantwyn Estate, a former DuPont family residence.  On Tuesday, May 9 th, the conference will include presentations from the most innovative early stage companies on the East Coast, panel presentations, exhibits, and networking.

Traditionally, the conference features start-up companies focused on information technology, enterprise software and internet technology. This year, companies specializing in chemicals and advanced materials, manufacturing technology, nanotechnology, medical instruments and devices, industrial biotechnology and electronic materials are also encouraged to apply.

ESE 2006 brings the annual conference back to Delaware, a prime location in the central region of Early Stage East’s geographic footprint which extends from the Carolinas to New England.
