Product Line or Service PHN is a healthcare information
technology company with a focus on patients and healthcare consumers. The Company sells
value-added services to healthcare organizations that will benefit from closer linkages
with their members or patients. PHN has three product lines: 1) Outreach Services,
including health education, satisfaction surveys, outcomes measurement, administrative
services (e.g., claims, referrals), and communications 2) Patient Management for chronic
illness and high cost cases, and 3) Consumer Access, including advertising, retail sales,
and market research.
Technology/Proprietary Rights PHN will have copyright
protection for its software.
Market Opportunities The market for PHN results from the
convergence of two major trends: the growth of managed health care and the development of
information technology. The way to increase value and productivity in the healthcare
industry is through more patient involvement in their care, improved compliance with
proven protocols, and more patient self-care. PHN provides patients and healthcare
consumers with tools needed to manage their day-to-day healthcare needs, resulting in
better outcomes, lower costs, and higher profitability for sponsoring organizations
(PHNs customers).
Marketing/Sales and Distribution PHNs product will be
distributed by sponsoring organizations (i.e., PHNs target markets) at no cost to
the end user. PHN will sell its products to these organizations. The target markets have
been prioritized by industry (as shown below) based on market size and the expected sales
cycle:
Each market will be accessed through direct sales, advertising, trade shows, and
commissioned sales.
Competition PHN expects to compete with several companies, but
there are presently no companies with significant market share in this market. PHN will
compete favorably based on its consumer focus, superior integration of product features,
and its hybrid (desktop/Internet) technology for delivery of services. PHN has prepared a
detailed competitive analysis that is available to potential investors.
Manufacturing Not applicable.
Financial PHN has an immediate capital requirement of $250,000
in order to complete product development and initiate operations. An additional $1million
of capital is required to reach breakeven.
