Bidermann
Golf Club, first opened in 1929, is set in the rolling hills of the
Brandywine Valley surrounded by major museums and gardens.
It is these rolling hills that make the course so enticing for
golfers. The back nine is
known for its long par-5 holes (especially 12 and 15) and throughout the
course golfers can enjoy the exquisite gardens developed by Henry
Francis du Pont – whose original home – the adjacent Winterthur
Museum, Garden and Library – was home to the first nine holes of this
course.
The course – a par 72 course of 6,383 yards –
has four par-5 holes ranging from 450 – 512 yards long, and four par-3
holes ranging from 165 – 200 yards long.
Golfers will check in at registration, and enjoy the putting
green and the driving range located by the original barn on the property
– now the locker rooms. The
Awards Party after golf will take place at the original nearby
farmhouse. Traditional
long holes, high rough and many ponds make the course a challenge for
any golfer. (Directions)
