ANN LANSINGER
President, Emerging Technology Centers (ETC)
ANN LANSINGER is President of the Emerging Technology Centers (ETC), a technology incubator complex, totaling 94,000 square feet of office space located in Baltimore, MD. The ETC, a venture of the Baltimore Development Corporation, currently is incubating over 60 start-up companies. Ann has extensive experience in the technology incubation industry. Since 1989, when she initiated operations for the then new technology incubator at the University of Maryland Baltimore County, Ann has successfully implemented creative, well respected programs, incorporating and often innovating industry best practices at UMBC and later at the Emerging Technology Centers. In the process, she has brought a high degree of credibility to Baltimore’s incubation network. At the ETC, Ann instituted a program of technology commercialization and venture creation, working with NASA Goddard Space Flight Center and several universities in and around Baltimore. She serves on the Board of Directors of: NBIA, Early Stage East, and Maryland Business Incubation Association. She was the Founding President of the MBIA, serving in that capacity from 2000 to 2005. Other recent activities include service on the Governor’s Workforce Investment Board’s Bioscience Steering Committee, the Maryland Business and Technology Coalition, the University of Baltimore Entrepreneurship Board and as a visitor to the MdBIO Board of Directors. In addition, she was host city coordinator for the National Business Incubation Association’s annual meeting in Baltimore in 2005, the National Association of Seed Venture Funds annual conference in 2003, and the Bio Life Tech venture fair in 2002, and co-chaired that event in 2003. In addition, she has been an invited speaker and/or panelist at numerous regional technology and incubation events.
