EARLY STAGE EAST ANNOUNCES NEW ENTREPRENEURIAL EDUCATION PROGRAM AT EARLY STAGE EAST 2004

Wilmington, Delaware � Early Stage East has announced the return of Entrepreneurial Education: �Building a Great Business� with a redesigned interactive educational workshop at Early Stage East 2004.

The full day's program is presented and facilitated by nine experts in the industry from the legal, management, accounting, human resources, marketing and public relations fields.

Entrepreneurial Education will be held at the Bank One Center on the Riverfront on Monday, May 10th. The program starts with presentations in the morning. The luncheon features an alumni keynote speaker from one of Early Stage East�s former presenting companies. In the afternoon, participants rotate through a series of roundtable discussions.

In the morning session, participants will learn about advance planning to raise capital, strategic considerations for raising venture capitalist, negotiating with a venture capitalists and how to analyze a venture capital agreement.

During this interactive workshop series in the afternoon, attendees will participate in each roundtable, discuss their own business challenges specifically relating to the roundtable topic and have the opportunity to �ask the expert�. Attendees will participate in each roundtable by the end of the program.

At the roundtable discussion, participants will discuss the protective provisions often requested by investors or included in documentation, the impact of the valuation process and their ability to negotiate funding, how to define their public relations business objectives, how to create a winning culture, identify key positions and roles, hire the right people, and how to develop and deliver a compelling sales pitch that will persuade others to buy.

The Early Stage East 2004 venture conference will feature 28 companies seeking their early rounds of institutional funding. The Early Stage East Conference is a two-day event. In addition to the Entrepreneurial Education on Monday, May 10th, all attendees will gather that evening at the Hotel duPont�s Gold Ballroom for the Opening VIP Reception and later, at the Post Reception Gathering at Deep Blue Bar and Grill.

On Tuesday, May 11th, the 28 companies will present their break-away businesses to an audience of investors which typically represent over $10 billion of institutional funding at the Bank One Center on the Riverfront. The companies will also exhibit their investment opportunities in the exhibit hall at the event.

Over 500 attendees visit the Early Stage East Conference every year in Wilmington. Attendees come from the Carolinas through New England, making Early Stage East the geographically largest venture conference developed specifically for early stage companies.

To date, the companies that have participated in Early Stage East venture capital conferences have gone on to raise over $560 million in institutional business funding.

Early Stage East will also be holding the Bio-Life-Tech Conference in Baltimore, Maryland on October 12th and 13th. These select companies will come from the biotechnology, nanotechnology, life science, and pharmaceutical industries and the related fields. Bio-Life-Tech attracts companies to present and exhibit their unique, break-away businesses to investors who specialize in the early-stage financing of companies in their specific industries.
