EARLY STAGE EAST ANNOUNCES 2004 EARLY STAGE EAST CONFERENCE

Wilmington, Delaware – Early Stage East has announced that the seventh annual Early Stage East venture capital conference will be held in Wilmington on May 10th and 11th. Early Stage East has been producing Venture Capital Conferences for early stage companies for seven years.

Companies that would like to participate in Early Stage East 2004 are invited to apply at www.earlystageeast.org. The Early Stage East venture conference features companies that have raised up to $5 million in institutional funding.

The Early Stage East Conference is a two-day event. On Monday, May 10th, the entrepreneurs presenting at the Conference will participate in Early Stage East’s entrepreneurial education session, “Building a Great Business.” That evening, all attendees will gather at the Hotel duPont’s Gold Ballroom for the Opening VIP Reception.

On Tuesday, May 11th, up to 35 companies will present their break-away businesses to an audience of investors which typically represent over $10 billion of institutional funding at the Bank One Center on the Riverfront. The companies will also exhibit their investment opportunities in the exhibit hall at the event.

Over 500 attendees visit the Early Stage East Conference every year in Wilmington. Attendees come from the Carolinas through New England, making Early Stage East the geographically largest venture conference developed specifically for early stage companies.

To date, the companies that have participated in Early Stage East venture capital conferences have gone on to raise over $500 million in institutional business funding. Early Stage East alumni include such companies as Blackboard, a leading enterprise software company for e-Education based in Washington, D.C. employing over 400 people and Tarian Software, which was recently sold to IBM.

Companies that wish to sponsor Early Stage East 2004 can contact the Early Stage East office at 302-777-2460 or [email protected]

Early Stage East will also be holding the Bio-Life-Tech Conference in Baltimore, Maryland on October 12th and 13th. The Bio-Life-Tech Conference will feature over 30 innovative companies seeking institutional venture capital. These select companies will come from the biotechnology, nanotechnology, life science, and pharmaceutical industries and the related fields. Bio-Life-Tech attracts companies to present and exhibit their unique, break-away businesses to investors who specialize in the early-stage financing of companies in their specific industries.
